The leading female Krav Maga and Filipino Dirty Boxing Instructor in Europe and the Middle East. Founder of the Apolaki Krav Maga & Dirty Boxing Academy in Bethnal Green and Chadwell Heath.
Daughter of a 29 British Army Commando, CQC and Firearms Instructor, Kelina Cowell grew up on a military base in Dortmund, Germany.
Inspired by training with her father from an early age, she continued her combative journey into Muay Thai in her teens. After sustaining injuries at 16 and unable to continue with Muay Thai she moved onto Krav Maga (gaining full instructor rank in 2011), Submission Wrestling, Filipino Martial Arts, Boxing and Pencak Silat.
Kelina is currently training under Master Shamim Haque in the Filipino blade art of Kalis Illustrisimo, Silat Buka Lingkaran under Guru Alvin Guinanao and Filipino Panantukan under Guro Daniel Sullivan. She also trains in Boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
She searches for the truth in personal protection, simply keeping what can really work on the street and the discarding the “Hollywood” techniques that don’t. She and her team teach Apolaki Krav Maga and Apolaki Dirty Boxing (Filipino Panantukan) in London, South Wales, Peterborough and Scotland

The Apolaki Krav Maga & Dirty Boxing Academy® is London's first and only full time Krav Maga and Filipino Dirty Boxing academy in London.
After developing her own syllabus (an enhanced version of Krav Maga under the name "Urban Warriors Krav Maga") and moving to London in 2012, Chief instructor Kelina Cowell opened classes in several locations across London. In 2013 she opened MMA gym "Urban Warriors Academy" in Vauxhall.
After 2 years she decided to leave in order to concentrate on developing her dream - a full time academy specializing in Krav Maga and Filipino Dirty Boxing. She re-branded under the name "Apolaki Krav Maga & Dirty Boxing Academy" and re-launched in 2015.
Since doing so, Kelina's reputation has continued to flourish within the self defence and martial arts industry. From working with the United Nations to deliver women's self defence and empowerment training in the middle east, to winning awards such as "Martial Arts Woman of the Year 2016" and being conducted into the "Martial Arts Black Belts Hall of Fame".
The Apolaki Krav Maga & Dirty Boxing Academy® is the official HQ for the Apolaki team, with classes taught by instructors Kelina Cowell, Gladys Morville and Katarzyna (Kasia) Pawlak. We also have satellite schools teaching Apolaki Krav Maga and Apolaki Dirty Boxing classes by instructors Shane Griffiths in South Wales and Bristol, Peter Soper in Peterborough and Sean Robertson in East Lothian, Scotland.

I've been training with Kelina for around 7 months now and all I have to say is she is simply the best instructor I've ever had. She knows her stuff and how to teach it well so you can progress in your own learning style. So rare to find. Highly recommended!
